Photos from the gif

Hi everyone! A week back or so I made a gif, it was a fail but I still made it and I shoot loads of photos in order to make it. It was about a hundred photos, they all looked kind of similar because I shoot them every 1-3 minutes. Today I picked out my favorite three photos. Usually I crop my photos into squares because it fits the blog best - in my opinion - but today I didn't. I just feel like the reason the gif was such a fail was because I had to crop a big part of it out because it was too big, then you couldn't see the full effect. So here is photos from the gif!

Water splash

Hi there! Some days ago I told you about the last photo tips and that it should be posted some time during next week. Today was the day I decided to shoot some example photos to that post. I'm also going to show you a few of the photos I shoot today, to be honest I really like the water photos. A long time ago I made a post where I dropped a little stone into a bowl filled with water and I enjoyed doing that a lot. This time it's water being poured/splashed into a bird bath and it's outside and not in my kitchen.

Just as promised I'm going to post a book review on one of my favorite reads of this year so stay tuned! You can also always request any book you would like me to read and do a review on, but I think I've already mentioned that :) As for the photo tips I believe it's going to be posted about mid-week or in the beginning of the week, we'll see when I get it completely finished.

Rowing in the lake

Hello readers! Me and my friend went to a lake near my house. We had his inflatable boat and rowed around in the lake. I was scared and panicked a bit, that resulted in water flooding into the boat. Both of us got wet but the boat didn't sink and that made me so happy, I was so scared we would sink and the water was freezing cold. After a long, pretty scary time on the water we got up and I took some photos. Photos of when I'm panicking in the boat exists but I'm not going to share that with you, I believe it's noting for the world to see. But here's some photos of me not panicking in the boat! :)

Daylilies

Hello readers! Daylilies, only lasting one day and then gone. To be honest I didn't even know this flowers existed in the garden until today. Since I'm not a fan of the sharp sunlight and warmth of the day I always go outside in the late evening. At that time, the daylilies have already bloomed out. But today I actually went outside during daytime, it was cloudy today so the lighting wasn't that bad, and I got some photos of the daylilies.

I'm currently writing the next part in "Photo tips" and that is expected to be done some time during next week. I'm also going to post a book review this weekend, probably Sunday. My goal is to publish two book reviews and one photo tips a month, but something tells me that goal is going to be a bit more challenging when I start school again in mid August. But for now on I feel like it's going well, I have some things planned and also working on a new layout! :)

Lemon baked apples with cardamom and vanilla ice cream

Hello everyone! It's time to add another post to the category "Eat and recipes". These apples are delicious and made fast and easy. You can save them a day or two in the fridge but make sure to warm the apples up again before eating them the second day. I always get asked for the recipe, both on my blog and on instagram so here it is.

Preparation time: 30 min
Servings: 4

Ingredients:
3 apples
lemon
2krm of cardamom seeds (or cardamom powder)
10g butter
1dl granulated sugar
Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Do this:

1. Scale, core and cut the apples into wedges.
2. Grate the zest of the lemons and squeeze out the juice.
3. Grind the cardamom seeds. (If you already have powder skip this step).

4. Stir together butter and sugar in a pan. Melt it to a light caramel and add the apples and the cardamom.
5. Stir gently until the apples are completely covered with caramel and start to soften.
6. Mix in the lemon juice and lemon peel.

7. You are now done! Serve the apples warm with ice cream.

Maja in the garden

Hi there! Maja and the other cats usually aren't outside over the night, they use to come home in the evening. I always take my photos in the later evening, most of the time the cats are already inside for the night. If they are outside it's not very common that they stick around the house, so I mostly don't see them outside very much. But today when I looked out I saw Maja sitting in the grass, looking at birds. It's very nice lighting otusdie today too, it's cloudy and the sun is almost down. Pearsonally I think the photos turned out very good, and I'm probably going to show you more of them in a later post! :)

I was hoping to put together another book review soon, but today I spent all day trying to get familiar with HTML 5 and catching up on Supernatural. Maybe that review is going to be a little bit later than I expected... I'm also working on improving my layout - with the help from HTML 5 - but there is going to be a review up, I just can't say when.

Midnight post

Hello everybody! I didn't post anything yesterday because my computer refused to connect to my Wi-Fi. Around 2AM the problem was solved but that's too late to post anyway so I thought it would be better to just don't post that day. I'm currently reading a lot so it's probably going to be a new book review in a few weeks.

I want to change the layout a little bit so I've been working on that and today I totally forgot I hadn't blogged. Therefore, it's only one photo of the night sky, just shoot. It's actually hard to get good photos at night, especially since my auto focus never works when it's dark.

The Issapixlat logo!

Good evening everybody! It's late, I know, but I've spent this whole day and some few hours during this week to complete my own logo that I can use on my photos. Some people get really annoyed and bored, they really don't enjoy the little designing part and just pay someone to do it for them but I like it very much. This logo was made in Gimp 2.8 and yes, it took some time but I didn't only make this one, I think I made around a dozen unfinished before I figured out exactly how I wanted it to look.

You might remember that when I started this blog I used to write my name and a copyright symbol on all of my photos. I stopped doing that because it was annoying and I'm just too lazy to do it but now I have made this logo that I put into Gimp as a brush so from now on it's going to be on all photos! :) The logo have a transparent background, but it'll look white here.

New dawn photos

Hello readers! Today's photos where much better than the garden photos because it's been raining a lot today so there's no spiders, just snails but that doesn't bother me very much. The lighting was good today, it's always best on cloudy days in my opinion, and I took my time and tried different angles and so on. I'm quite happy with a lot of my photos from today so it's a bit more photos today than usually but I doubt it's a bad thing.

I also finally took a good profile photo. The one I had previously was just something I took in the mirror and I didn't even take down my hair. This one is a bit better, brighter and you see me better. I also wrote a new profile that I put up (you can see it to your left) and that went pretty good I believe.

Tuesday cat fail!

Hi everyone! I checked my camera just a moment ago and it was so low on battery that it just turned of by itself. Of course I still wanted to post something so I decided to post about Maja, because I have a lot of photos of her that I never seems to be able to throw away. She does this thing where she always moves a little in the photo, making it blurry. This is like a fail Friday post I guess but it's not Friday, it's a Tuesday... :) Even if she's sleeping she always wake up when she hear the click my camera makes when it adjusts the auto focus. It's really annoying and I have to take a lot of photos in order to get a few in focus.

These are completely unedited, I didn't even bother to crop them. I only found one on the other cats, Tigra, so I threw that into the bunch as well. Hopefully you'll think it's a bit funny, I think it's very funny and I laughed a bit while looking through these photos :)

Window views

Hello readers! I think all of you have seen the view from my bedroom window (last seen in my gif fail). You are probably bored of it by now, even if I want to show it to you every day I don't do it. Today was a very rainy day and it was very windy outside so the sunset wasn't that great. When I looked out from another of our windows I thought it was a good view. I think I posted some photos of this view way back, in an early summer memory, so it's the second time I show this view but you are probably not tired of it - yet :)

Vintage garden photos

Hi there! Today I made it outside again, it's been around 25-35°C this whole week and I'm just sick off the heat. It's so warm compared to what I'm used to. I know my readers from Asia probably have it like this everyday and it's just horrible. When it gets 30°C or more I just feel so unmotivated to do anything except for laying in bed with my fan on high waiting for nighttime then it's a bit less hot but still too hot.

I didn't come downstairs until dinner and it was around 9PM when I shoot these photos. No spiders crawling over my feet this time, but could still see them and I didn't like it. To be honest I was scared and I couldn't stand still to get the photos in focus so I ended up with a lot of blurry photos after this. Then I tried to edit a bit differently and I think it ended up looking a bit vintage. Did it? I'm not sure but maybe a little bit? I hope you enjoy it (vintage or not) and don't melt in the heat! :)

Sunset gif fail

Hello everyone! Last evening/night I spent three hours taking roughly 100-80 photos of the sunset. I've watched a lot of beautiful time laps lately and I wanted to make my own. The kind of time laps I've seen have all been filmed and then speed up but I don't have that much storage on my SD card so I went with the more time consuming process of taking a photo ever 2-5 minutes.

I've now tried making this gif for about two hours and it seems like I have to shrink all the photos before I put them together... it's really annoying and I didn't want to do it so I just cropped part of the gif out. It doesn't look good, but it's something. Look at the fail and come back tomorrow when I have a proper post up. I'm really annoyed right now and I'm probably going to be annoyed until I've shrunk all the photos and made a proper gif of it but that's going to take time.

Maja in black&white

Good evening everybody! I'm just going to make a little post with some photos I took today. It's just Maja because I wanted to have photos where the cat's didn't just sleep so I woke her up by giving her food. I tried to do that with the other cats as well but they didn't want food, just sleep, haha :) So it's just Maja, she is sleep right next to me again now because I'm so lazy that I don't even leave my bed to blog.

Book review: The Graveyard Book

Title: The Graveyard Book
Author: Neil Gaiman
Genre: Fantasy (Horror)
Year published: 2010
Pages: ca 300
A place to buy it: If you are in Sweden you can click here to buy the book of Bokus and if that's not the case you can click here to buy it from Amazon.

A boy named Bod

This easy-to-read-story catches the reader in the very first page. A cold blooded murderer named Jack is on a mission to kill a whole family, but somehow the youngest child in the family escapes. Jack refuses to leave his mission incomplete and throughout the book you will continue to meet him. I feel like Jack is the red thread, he is also the evil character that continue to show up throughout the story.

The young child Bod (that Jack wishes to see dead) grows up on a graveyard. The dead care about him, feed him, educate him and warns him about the world outside the graveyard. A friendly couple - dead of course - have adopted him and Bod's life is good. But just like Oliver Twist he is brave and quite adventurous.

How the chapters/book is built

Every chapter is a bit like a short story where things happen the same way: Bod gets in a bit of trouble but by solving it, not always by himself, he learn new things that can be helpful in the future. I find that the way the chapters are made make it easy to, after you've read the whole book, go back and read your favorite chapter again. (I personally loved chapter 3, it reminds me of Narnia.)

As I said a bit earlier I feel like Jack is the one that binds all the chapters together. It's neatly done and all the things you have read about in the previous chapters get a new purpose.

Final thoughts

I would recommend this book to everyone who want a good read. It's a children's book recommended from 10 years and up but I really didn't feel like I was reading a children's book. I just felt like the book was from Bod's perspective and since he is a child it was nothing strange about that. The author manages to touch important life questions about life, death, friends and bullies in an enjoyable way. But I still can't shake off the feeling that a boy cared for by ghosts are a bit... morbid? Anyhow it's still 10/10 - I recommend!

A mix from the garden

Hello everyone! I feel like I'm blogging super early today because it's late afternoon and not evening/night. Maybe you missed me yesterday because I didn't post anything at all but that's because I just got a new computer and it almost took the whole day to set it up properly. Everything is good with it now except from the extremely bad Wi-Fi connection in my room. It's so annoying I can't do anything on the internet because my computer won't connect. So I'm currently blogging in the living room.

It's very warm today and when I was outside in the garden - it's one part of it that's in direct sunlight and the other part is in the shadow of the roof. The problem is that all spiders are in the shadow part and they don't even bother to hide! All the photos I needed to shoot was also in the shadow part and I freaked out and had to go inside three times because the spiders kept walking over my feet and down my legs (I was wearing flip-flops) when I tried to concentrate on the camera. After much effort, here is the photos.
